Explore - Current Project (Menu Function)
Is there anyway to quickly access/open the working folder for the Micromine project using a single keyboard command (hotkey function)? I use the menu function continuously and hoping to see if there is a faster way to go about this.
There also doesn't seem to be anything in the help library about creating user specific shortcut commands (keyboard) to access regularly used functions, can this be done?

There is currently no hotkey for this command. The hotkey list is already pretty crowded so there is not much scope for customising it - however this we will again review the viability of this idea for a future version.
I would suggest the easiest way would be to create a new custom toolbar and copy the File | Explore menu on to it, you can then drag the Current Project from the submenu to toolbar. This will make it a single click from the toolbar. (see
Customising the workspace > Customising toolbars help topic for information about customising toolbars)
In a future version we may add an icon for this command and also add it as a tool to the Project toolbar - this will make it a lot easier to customise the toolbars and move this icon to the most convenient place.

You could record a script and save the .py, then add it to a run script slot, then add the slot as a toolbar menu button. I have used the slot in the past to get to a long section view I constantly needed, as a shortcut to opening the display limits and selecting the form, it worked well.
As a suggestion, if hotkeys are improved, a nice feature would be .py slots with hotkeys then you could do whatever you like with the hotkeys.

Hans,
You will be happy to know that for Micromine 2014 Service Pack 1 the File | Explorer | Current Project menu has been allocated the default keyboard shortcut/hotkey CTRL+E
We are also working on adding customisable keyboard shortcuts for the main menu - we are hoping this will be available in the next major release.
